Blog Journal #8
Making the web design was overall a pretty fun assignment. It was cool to make a website from scratch because that is something I had not done before. I liked having the flexibility to make it pretty much my own, following the assignment guidelines. At first it was a little confusing to figure out because it was not something I was used to, but then it was fine once I got the hang of it. I can use these skills in the future if I decide to ever make another website because now I have a foundation of creating a website. Here is a link to my website if you want to check it out!
Diigo was also another site I had not used before this class. Using this site allowed me to learn some skills of finding articles related to specific content and publishing them to the site. I liked how I was able to annotate and make comments on what I found to be important in the article and that I could share that with others. This site can be used in the future with a team because if we are trying to find information on a certain topic, we can all upload our findings to Diigo with annotations and sticky notes on our respective sites for other members to see.
Technology has become such an integral part of the education system as more and more things are invented to aid in the classroom. As such, it is important for teachers to stay on top of these different trends. A site I found that could be used to help me stay informed of technology trends in education is linked here. This site is helpful because it talks about the importance of technology in education, but also lists the trends and their definitions for teachers to read about.
Hi Savannah!
ReplyDeleteI agree that figuring out the website was a bit difficult at first, because I had not used Weebly before. Your website turned out great! I had also not used Diigo before this class, however I agree with you that it appears to be a useful tool for my future endeavors. The site you included in your last paragraph appears to be very useful!.
Hi Savannah! I really loved your weebly website! I liked that you had lots of pictures on each page that were history based. I also thought that each page was put together nicely and flowed well. Overall a great website!
ReplyDeleteHi Savannah,
ReplyDeleteI am going to comment on your website design using CRAP.
Contrast: I thought that there could have been more darker colors used, everything seemed a bit too bright to me.
Repetition: Good use of the same types of fonts throughout the website.
Alignment: Everything that should have been aligned to look aesthetically pleasing, were aligned correctly.
Proximity: The information for the draft of the research paper followed the section discussing it so I feel this to be a good example of proximity.
Hi Savannah,
ReplyDeleteI really liked the design of your website. I loved the contrast of colors and the bright headings and history pictures on every page. I like the repetition of the design and I think it makes the website look put really well together!
Savannah,
ReplyDeleteI thought your website was designed very well. I like how everything flows down the page very fluently - it all follows through well until it ended with a nice picture related to the topic; it's an effect cadence. My one piece of suggestion would simply be that there is a bit of dead space on the side of each of the pages - it might be nice to include something there to keep the page feeling 'full'. Regardless though, it looks great; great job!
